Made for your phone
Calcpace is being tested on Google Play. The app now opens in your language, with a tab bar for everyone and a Performance tab of its own.
Calcpace is in closed testing on Google Play, and the testers' first week was the most useful feedback this site has had. Almost all of it was about the phone — so almost everything below is too.
In your language, from the first screen
The app now opens in your phone's language. The language picker moved out of the menu and into the top bar, where you can see it; changing it there sticks to your account when you are signed in, on every browser (it silently did not on Firefox for Android). A new account starts in the language you signed up in, and the "Complete your profile" screen that greeted new testers half in English is fully translated.
A bar at the bottom, for everyone
The installed app has no browser around it — no browser back button, no address bar — so the tab bar at the bottom now shows even when you are signed out: Guides, Calendar, Calculate, Convert and Sign up. Signed in, it is Training, Log, Performance, Calculate and Calendar. Performance gathers what your fitness is worth today — training zones, race times from 5K to the marathon, the six-month trend — on one page. The menu opens with your profile card.
Small things that were in the way
After Calculate or Predict, the page now scrolls to the answer instead of leaving it below the fold. The run form gives the date and time a full row, so they are no longer cut off on small screens. Numbers use your language's decimal separator. Your profile photo can be picked comfortably on a phone. And the welcome email now arrives after you confirm your address, not alongside the confirmation.
